ABOUT KELLIE
Dr. Kellie P. Alston is an educator, trainer, author, and instructional designer who has been developing and teaching courses online since 2004. Her passion for teaching grew from making her cousins, friends, and stuffed animals play school to serving in the field of education as an elementary school teacher, a reading specialist, a curriculum facilitator, an adjunct instructor, a course developer, and a full-time distance education lecturer.
Through her masterful use of cooperative learning structures and purposeful assignments, she continues to create powerful learning experiences that stimulate minds and ultimately, transform students into incredible learning commanders who leave the virtual classroom committed to impacting the world.
Dr. Alston now serves the North Carolina Central University School of Education as a distance education lecturer for the Early Childhood Education program. She holds a Ph.D. in Instructional Design and Technology and most of all enjoys being the doting mother of her divine daughter, Zoe.

“I am proud to say that I have had the pleasure of being a student of Kellie Alston’s. I was fortunate enough to be in five of Ms. Alston’s courses from 2012-2016. I was working on my second bachelor of science degree in early childhood education, and I was a distance education student for the first time. My previous college experience was a typical one at a four-year university in the early 1990’s.

The LTVD process that Ms. Alston uses is the only way I WANT to learn now. By working collaboratively with other students in my courses, I was able to really understand a topic or a subject for the first time. Not only was I able to understand a topic/subject, but now in my professional life, I can work collaboratively with co-workers and draw on my experiences from Ms. Alston’s classes.
Kellie Alston doesn’t give grades. She makes you earn them with every ounce of brainpower you have. Prior to being a student in Ms. Alston’s courses, I never knew I had that much brainpower.
